History of Pažaislis Camaldolese Monastery, Kaunas

Pažaislis Monastery is one of the most beautiful ensembles of mature baroque in North-Eastern Europe. Today, the monastery dates back more than three centuries of history surrounded by legends, charms with its distinctive Baroque appearance and colourful surroundings.

During the tour, a guide will tell about the Camaldolese and other owners of the monastery, about its founders and the most famous masters of that time, who worked here, and will reveal the secrets of the frescoes.

Language: Lithuanian, Russian.

Duration: about 1.5 hour.

Meeting Place: At the Pažaislis Monastery gates (31 T. Masiulio St. 31, Kaunas).

The tour takes place on foot around the monastery. The guide will meet the group at the monastery gates and arrival at the monastery is self-sufficient.

Additional: Monastery ticket: 6 € for adults and 3 € for children, students and seniors.
