Jewish history and heritage in Kėdainiai City, Kėdainia

During the tour in Kėdainiai City you will see a complex of 2 synagogues – one of the 3 surviving in Lithuania, a unique Jewish house with the Sukkah attached. In the former synagogue – in the Multicultural center you will get acquainted with the specifics of Jewish houses of worship, Jewish customs and traditions. Moreover, you will see the exhibition on display at that time and a permanent exposition dedicated to the Jewish history and Holocaust of Kėdainiai.

Language: Lithuanian, Russian.

Duration: about 1,5 hour.

Meeting Place: The Old Market Square in Kėdainiai, near the former Jewish synagogues.

Number of participants – from 10 to 40.

For adults and students from 5th grade.

All the year round, except Monday and Thursday.

Brief information about the guide Audrone: I am a historian and have been working at the Kėdainiai Regional Museum since 1992. I am the head of the Multicultural Center, organize various events,  lead educational classes for students and adults. I also work as a history teacher. I am an expert who has published the book „Discover and Color the city of Kėdainiai”. Areas of interest – religious denominations, Jewish history and heritage, history of Kėdainiai region. I have been leading excursions around Kėdainiai and Kėdainiai district since 1994.
