The Old Crafts Workshop is a living museum with functioning craftsmen’s workshops, the main purpose of which is to present the crafts that existed in Vilnius during the heyday of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

It is a place where one can learn, teach, share and spread old crafts, old craftsmanship traditions and find new ways to refresh the waning knowledge of forgotten crafts. This is an opportunity to pick up the broken threads and rediscover what was old and time-tested. In the old craft workshops you will find:

– a wide selection of lectures, tours, educational activities and trainings for adults, children, youth and guests from abroad;

– permanent craftsmen’s exposition-workshop, giving visitors the opportunity to observe and participate in the craftsman’s work process

– exposition – sale of handicrafts: the most famous reconstructions of archeological findings of the Baltic period are presented;

– examples of Baltic art, jewelry, the best works representing the historical crafts of Vilnius and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the most representative works of Lithuanian national identity and modern works of craftsmen made using historical and national heritage technologies, techniques and materials, thus promoting sustainable and creative preserving of traditions.
